Please help, simple issue.
I need to know if it is possible to retrieve something I may have lost forever. I was doing some recording with audacity, and had cut off (ctrl x) part of a recorded clip I did not want. I then saved the project file, and when I opened it the next day I decided that I did want the deleted part of the clip. I could not press ctrl z to undo what I had cut off prior to saving the project. Basically, I need to know if it is possible to retrieve this part of the recording that I deleted the prior day. ANY help would be appreciated.

Projects don't save UNDO. Once you close Audacity, it cleans its UNDO system of all old work.
This is why we tell people to keep a safety copy of original work. The cousin version of this problem is when the computer crashes while holding the show and there is no clean copy of the work available then, either.
