Using local manual

Post by blrIII » Fri Jan 09, 2015 7:57 pm

I have followed the provided instructions and downloaded the manual zip file. I have unzipped it so a "Help" folder appears under the program filesx86audacity path and still the program tells me I don't have the help file loaded. I am unsure how to install it properly. Any help will be appreciated.

If you install Audacity with the recommended installer, the manual is included and can be found in the Help menu.

If I went to the site, clicked download and followed the prompts, open Audacity and press help. The result is a screen saying it is not there, should I uninstall the program and try reinstalling or is there a solution that uses the recommended 7zip, which I have also loaded. My experience is limited, and I apologize for the trouble.

The Help will only be present if you downloaded "Audacity 2.0.6 installer" from http://audacityteam.org/download/windows.

Reinstalling the "Audacity 2.0.6 installer" from http://audacityteam.org/download/windows should fix the problem. It should be easier than downloading the Manual separately.

If you prefer to download it separately please follow these instructions:
http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/un ... anual.html.

You can also read the same Manual online (when you have an active internet connection):
http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/.
