Windows 7, using Audacity 2.0.3 with an exe file include

Post by cwbrown » Thu Jan 01, 2015 5:14 pm

I have been given an Audio Technics turntable as a gift
Included was an Audacity 2.0.3 disc that has an exe file within it (one of 5 files included)
I have windows 7.
When loading the disc it only comes up to view the files within the disc - there are no pop ups to install the system
Windows compatability site tells me that I require a patch to update this disc
Can you help and advise please
I do not have extensive IT skills
Thanks

Audacity 2.0.3 is an old version.
The current version is 2.0.6 which you can download (free) via the Audacity website: http://audacityteam.org/download/windows

If you installed the old version, uninstall it, then download the "Audacity 2.0.6 installer" (near the top of the linked page) to your computer. Then run the installer. As with installing most programs you will need administrator permissions to install the program (you may be prompted to supply the Administrator password, depending on how the security is set up on your computer).

If the turntable is a USB turntable, see here for comprehensive instructions: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tu ... to_cd.html
