Yes, an excellent idea. Though it can't compete with the graphics on the Zoom VST plugin.

I don't expect that Nyquist plugins will have pretty graphics any time soon, but hopefully "real time preview" is not too far off.
The updated version of Channel Mixer has the non-real-time preview.

This sample was produced using the new "Mid-Side Decoder" preset, followed by the "Wide" preset (because the original recording is quite narrow).
As with the previous version, I have also used a shelf filter to reduce the (excessive) bass, and amplified close to 0 dB.
