Please state which version of Windows you are using,
and the exact three-section version number of Audacity from "Help menu > About Audacity".
Audacity 1.2.x and 1.3.x are obsolete and no longer supported. If you still have those versions, please upgrade at https://www.audacityteam.org/download/.

LAME Download and Install Problems
The LAME download site will not respond. I've downloaded LAME from several other sites but it will not install. I have Audacity 2.0.6 on a Windows 7 64 bit system

It's working for me. Did you download from http://lame.buanzo.org/#lamewindl?
Normally, you download the EXE version and run to install it, and then Audacity will automatically find it. I've never tried "manually" installing it.

Usually, you just put it in a folder. Then when you export to mp3, Audacity will ask you for the location of lame_enc.dll. I've never used the exe method so I don't know.
