No Audio or Amplitude
I have been using Audacity for years but recently after updating to the latest version when I open or import a file there is no amplitude and therefore no sound. I have tried several different files with the same results. The files play on all other media players on my computer. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Audacity but nothing seems to help. I am using Windows 7 64 bit with latest version of audacity.

Did you download Audacity from here: http://audacityteam.org/download/windows
Did you download the

or the
"Audacity 2.0.5 zip file (8.2 MB) for Windows 2000/XP/Vista/Windows 7/Windows 8"

Look at Edit > Preferences: Directories. Make sure the Audacity temporary directory has several GB of space and that you have permission to write to that location.larrypdot wrote:when I open or import a file there is no amplitude and therefore no sound.
If you need to reinstall Audacity, ensure you enable "Reset Preferences" halfway through the installer.
