Wav files won't play
Howdy.....I have a Zoom H2 recorder and I normally record in MP3 format at 16 bit due to my file sizes, I forgot to change it over and it defaulted to WAV. When I uploaded to audacity it will not play the file. I hit play and it won't do anything. I tried to export and reinsert the file as a MP3, but there is nothing there to play after that........the line is flat. The play counter runs, but there is just a hiss. Any ideas?.....Thanks

Does the WAV play in Windows Media Player?
If the problem is in Audacity, you may need to change your Audacity temporary directory to a folder that you have permission to write to. See: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 46&t=78583 .

Re: Wav files won't play
Then please open Device Toolbar and make sure the second box (playback device) is pointing to the playback device you intend.wammy wrote:If you import the WAV is that also flat lined? ]

Are you on Vista or later? If so click the speaker icon by the system clock, click "Mixer" then ensure the Audacity output slider is turned up and unmuted.
If the problem is that the green playback cursor does not move, restart the computer.
This does not explain why the exported MP3 was flat lined unless you turned the gain slider on its track down.
