How to re-save lots of WAV files?

Post by happy37 » Fri Mar 14, 2014 9:57 am

Hello everyone.

Good morning. I have been working on saving some radio shows which I had saved as projects as well as their associated WAV files. That's all well with no problem.

I am using Audacity 2.0.5 on Windows XP Pro with a Dual Core 2.6Ghz processor with 4GB of RAM.

This morning, I connected up my external hard drive to move over some more saved recordings from my PC.

Shock, horror, I find that all the WAV files of my previously saved Audacity projects are still there, but the projects folder is blank.

I tried to copy and save a project back again into the Projects folder, and Audacity 2.0.5 says "It's still there, do you want to replace it?"

I said No.

Here's my question. How do I now re-save or Import all of these 155 or so differently titled WAV files back as Audacity projects onto the external hard drive?

Do I have to do each one manually; ie one by one, or can I run a command of some sort to re-save all these in one go as their relevant projects?

Thanks.

Do you mean you have AUP files and no corresponding _data folders, or _data folders but no AUP files, or have you deleted or moved all the AUP files and all the _data folders?

There is no such Audacity message "It's still there". You will need to give full steps what you are trying to do using which tools. Audacity no longer lets you overwrite projects at all.

Yes, unless you're saying you have the _data folders but no AUP files. You might be able to script recreating the AUP files but it would only work if these were unedited recordings.
