Audacity 2.0.3 can't find input...Please help!

Post by MrServiceMan » Sat Dec 07, 2013 11:42 pm

I am attempting to use Audacity 2.0.3 for the first time. I was following a tutorial that seemed to be going well until I was instructed to select the input device from the drop down menu. It was then that I realized that Audacity is not recognizing the microphone as being present. I am using a USB microphone/headset combination. My computer recognizes both the head set speakers and the microphone. They are working fine. I am using the windows-7 operating system. Can someone please tell me if there is some setting that I need to make to make the mic visible to Audacity……Thank you.

Just to take the obvious first. Audacity looks for microphones when it starts. Restart Audacity with the headset plugged in.

I have been able to record my USB headset just fine. Attached.
