Hi PLease can someone help.
I've just plugged my keyboard in and recorded a simple Morning has Broken song using the build in rhythms (just to have a go) and straight away I messed up. I came in late on the first note.... so thought a perfect mistake for me to have a try at editing but i cannot for the life of me work out how! First of all it's come out with two lines and they are both slightly different why is that? and secondly is it one of the Effects I need to make the first note start a fraction sooner that it does? argh plz help

If you want to move your notes without moving the backing rhythms, you can't. Once the sounds are mixed, you can't un-mix them... "You can't, un-bake a cake, or un-fry an egg, and you can't un-mix a song."

If you have a "track" with a single instrument, you can move the timing around, but it's tricky and I've never tried it. I assume it's normally done with more advanced DAW (digital audio workstation) software.

Modern studios use multi-track recording. Each instrument and vocal is on a separate track (sometimes several tracks for the drums). Essentially, each track is a separate recording. Frequently, many of the tracks are recorded at different times. This way, each track can be edited & processed separately, or you can record several vocal takes and pick the best one, or pick the best parts of each vocal, etc.

First of all it's come out with two lines and they are both slightly different why is that?

I assume you have a stereo keyboard. Do you know what a stereo file looks like on Audacity? Have you opened a regular stereo file (an MP3, etc.) in Audacity?

Ah I see, thanks for that. Yes I guess it is stereo - i've been out of this now for years - getting back into it slowly. thanks
