Dear All,

I would like to record 78 Vinyl records from my turnable, but it has only the speeds 33 and 45. In particular, I found a record of Artie Shaw in a charity shop, but don't know what to do with it. Does Audacity have the software to speed up the recording, or do I have to look elsewhere to do this?

Yes it does: Effect menu > Change Speed. http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/change_speed.html

Note that 78 records have a different groove size to 45s and 33s. Playing 78s with a "microgrove" stylus (for 33/45s) may cause permanent damage to both the record and the stylus.
