Windows 7 operating system, & Audacity 2.03 version, trying to connect/use a
computer.
Problem: After selecting 'Preferences' from the Edit tab, the manual instructions are to "select AUDIO I/O tab at the top left". I do not see anything like that. The only
possible tab that I do see is something with 'MME'. I somehow have to get into a
preference window to select the playback device, recording device, channels, etc.
Can anyone suggest something ?

You are looking at the old Audacity 1.2.x manual.
The manual for the current version is included in the standard Windows download - look in the Audacity Help menu.
