Audacity lowering my volume

Audacity lowering my volume

I own a windows 7 and every time open audacity my volume lowers. Sometimes when I do other tasks on audacity like switch microphones. My volume lowers. Why is this?

If the software you use has hooks into the operating system, then the last thing you open takes over. Try pushing the Audacity Playback volume control all the way up. The slider next to the speaker.

Look at Help > About Audacity. Do you have version 2.0.3? If not, try that version:
