Audacity with Guitar Rig 5

Post by gosho09 » Sun Apr 14, 2013 12:26 pm

I am a guitarist and use audacity to record. I can easily record from my guitar directly to the pc and from my guitar to my amp to my pc. The problem comes when i try to record with audacity using Native Instrument's Guitar Rig 5. Each time i try to record I get the message "Error while opening sound device. Please check the input device settings and project sample rate". It's the first time I try to record like that and I have no idea what to do. Please give me a hint. Thank you!

If Guitar Rig has exclusive access to the sound card, or if it is using ASIO and that has exclusive access to your sound card, then Audacity will be denied access to the sound card and will show you the error "Error while opening sound device...."
You are more likely to have success recording Guitar Rig if you use a recording program that supports ASIO (have a look at wavosaur).
