What effects are used here?

Post by ScheifferKBates » Fri Apr 12, 2013 4:28 pm

Hi guys, I'm new here.

Just wondering can somebody give me a detailed run down on what effects are used to create this sort of Demonic voice? Preferably something that sounds almost exactly like this. Mostly all I've heard off other people is "Apply a lot of Echo" but that just doesn't sound right to me.

Thanks guys

Reverse Reverb.

Reverse the track, add some reverb, then reverse it back the right way again.

Cool trick to remember... I welcome hearing creative ways to make monster voices in fantasy novels.

Sorry to bump up this thread, but I'm wondering if somebody can help me with identifying the values of GVerb for this? I seem to keep getting too much echo, I'm just wondering if somebody could open up their Audacity and see if they can get something sounding similar..

I seem to be getting too much of the "hall effect" when I reverb it myself, I'm wondering what I can do to make it sound more like the link above

Try setting:

Change Pitch:
-4 semitones

Echo:
Delay: 0.04
Factor: 0.25

Reverse

GVerb
Room Size: about 100
Reverb time: about 0.5 second
Damping: 0.5
Input Bandwidth: 0.75
Dry signal: -3
Early reflection: -20
Tail level: -12

Reverse

Change Pitch:
-2 semitones

Not quite the same, but still quite demonic.

You need to play with the effects. I put together that sample is a couple of minutes and spent much longer typing up the instructions to give you an idea of the kind of things you need to be trying.
