I have Audacity 2.0.2. I use Windows 7, SP1

I am new to Audacity and have read the FAQ for an answer to my problem but am very confused by the terminology and therefore hope someone can help me out.
I have copied one of my own music cassette tapes (containing 10 songs) onto my PC so that I can copy it onto a dvd later. I want to be able to put a break between each track so that I can skip through each individual song with my cd player.
I can find the end of each track on Audacity but don't know how to put in a "break"
Truly hoping someone could help me, and thank you for reading my question.

FYI - A DVD will not play in a regular audio CD player... However, most DVD players can play audio CDs.

So... Where do you plan on playing this disc?

Your computer should be able to play just about any format, so if you burn individual files in any format onto a CD or DVD it should play in your computer. But, if you just burn WAV or MP3 files onto a DVD disc, your stand-alone CD player won't play it. DVD players tend to handle more formats, but that's non-standard so it may, or may not, play on your DVD player.

Audio CDs use a special format. That's no problem, you just have to tell your burning application to make an "audio CD". Just about any CD burning program can take your indivdual audio tracks in any format and make a regular audio CD album with numbered tracks. Some burning applications can take one big audio file and a cue sheet (which you create) to indicate where the track markers are.

Some CD players can play a CD with MP3s burned onto it, but it's non-standard and most can only play regular audio CDs.

DVDs have particular format requirements too... If you want to make an audio DVD that plays on any DVD player, you need "DVD authoring" software. Then, you can make an "Audio Only" DVD, which is basically a regular video DVD with blank video. Or you can make a slide-show, or you can make a "slide" which is just a picture of text showing the artist & title, etc. There is a special DVD-Audio format, but most DVD players can't play it, and it takes special authoring software.
