Shifting all labels to the right

I need to move all labels in a label track to the right by 1m2.829s. I can easily do this sort of thing in an audio track by inserting silence. The only way I can see to do it for a label track is to select the whole track (Home, shift+End) then cut it (control+X), select the 1m2.829s position in the track, then paste (control+V).

It works, but is there a simpler way?

I tried copying and pasting 1m2.829s of label track at the start, but it overwrites with it, instead of inserting like in an audio track.

Yes,I tried your systems and it seems to be pretty efficient. A lock-labels-in-place relative to one another would be nice as would a snap-to on/off toggle for labels. Presently, here does not appear to be any snap feature for labels.

Turn on "Sync-Lock Tracks" just while you do the insert of silence in the audio track ( http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/ed ... .html#link ).

Shifting the labels right on inserting audio actually worked in 1.2.6 as long as you selected in the audio track as well. It should do that in current Audacity.

@Oxenhandler, I'll add your vote for more snap functionality for labels. Be more specific if you want, for example snap to cursor, clips, other labels...

Thanks, that works, although just as fiddly in this case. I was moving the labels because I discovered I'd inadvertently deleted a few seconds of audio before I placed all the labels. I'd replaced the audio track, and didn't want to touch it. I would have had to insert another track to insert the silence into, then delete it.

Do you mean without sync-lock? I couldn't make it work. The audio moves along but the labels don't.

I mean it's a regression that it no longer works in current Audacity, but did in 1.2.6 (which did not have Sync-Lock).

There is of course no need to select in the label track if Sync-Lock Tracks is on.
