Saving to a CD or DVD

Post by bmoverbay » Sun Nov 04, 2012 12:09 pm

I successfully transferred and saved my first vinyl album to my PC. Thanks for all the previous help to get me to that point. My problem now is burning the project to a CD or DVD that I can listen to. I copied the project to a DVD but when I tried to open it from the DVD I got a pop-up message that said Windows didn't recognize the project. My ultimate goal is to move my vinyl collection to DVD and then to my iTunes music library. Can someone provide me a link to where saving and transferring to a DVD is covered? Thank you.

Regards,
Bruce

This tutorial from the manual should help: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/bu ... _a_cd.html

It is part of this set of tutorials: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tu ... to_cd.html

You may find this suggested workflow from that tutorial set useful: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/sa ... ation.html

Do NOT "save" your "project". Use "File -> Export" to create the audio format of your choice (WAV, MP3, etc.).

If you want to play the Cd or DVD on a regular CD or DVD player, that requres a particular CD or DVD format. If you want to play it on your computer (in iTunes, windows Media Player, etc.), then just about any audio format will work.
