any other examples of a good cassette player suitable for playing into Audacity? I'm always looking for better stuff and all.

Any good cassette player can be used for playing into Audacity. Many of the best cassette players were made by Nakamichi. If you are using a conventional cassette player you will also need a sound card that has stereo line level inputs.
