highlighting editing functions

Post by AO9 » Mon Oct 08, 2012 4:22 pm

I am working in Windows 7. Installed Audacity from the .exe installer.

I am trying to execute edits on the sound using CTRL X; but nothing happens. When I go to the editing menu at the top, the editing commands are not highlighted. Any idea what I have to do to turn on the commands?

Many thanks,

AO

Don't you have to select some audio for the edit commands to work? They work fine here. Koz

Control-X is 'Remove Audio Cut'. Is that what you wanted? It doesn't arbitrarily run edit commands. Koz

This will happen if playback is merely paused. You have to Stop it to enable the editing commands.
