recording from stereo mix problem (fixed)

I'm usingWindows XP and Audacity 2.0.2. Every time I start Audacity, my settings in Control Panel Sounds and Audio Devices keep getting changed. I set it to record from the stereo mix, but every time I start Audacity, it keeps changing it so that it tries to record from the line in. I found nothing in Prefferences to fix this. Please help!

Try setting "Stereo Mix" as the default recording device in the Windows Sounds and Audio devices: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Mixer ... ssues#xpcp

Note that if you use Skype, then the default recording device may get changed back when you run Skype.

I do...But the default setting keeps changing back to Line every time I start Audacity, even though I keep setting it back to Stereo Mix.

Fixed it! I was missing something under devices in Prefferences.
