Hi there
i cannot get sound into Audacity from either my acoustic or electric..
please bare with me if the post is long but the more info i give you the better for all..
Firstly im not very PC literate,,anyways,,i downloaded Audacity from here http://audacity.soft32.com/free-download?gclid=CLKvtvers7ECFbMJtAodlhgALg followed all the instructions then went to preferences>set up the sound card which is this model,, http://www.musicmatter.co.uk/maudio-delta-1010 ... tAod9zMASQ i have this hooked up to a mixing desk,,so i insert my guitar lead into the desk call up Guitar 4 and play but i cant seem to get a signal into the audio,,
i decided to import a audio file and it plays fine so i know the programe already recognises the soundcard and i can see the RED peek meters flashing as it plays so output is ok,,
i dont see any meters responding when i play the guitar so there is definately no signal getting in..
i`m trying as much as possible by changing the signal path ie my Delta 1010 has 1/2 3/4 5/6 7/8 so i change them in the window pain to try and eliminate as much as possible but still no input signal,,no red meter hmmm..
seems to me Audacity is not recognising Guitar rig 4 (Guitar rig4 my software) and i can`t figure out how to fix this,, i then plugged an acoustic directly into the mixer in order to take the Guitar rig 4 out of the equasion but still NO input signal,, so this is my signal path ,,acoustic>mixer>soundcard>Audacity
any help would be greatfully recieved

I checked that link and the file that downloaded, "audacity setup.exe" is NOT Audacity 2.0.1bluezshark wrote:i downloaded Audacity from here http://audacity.soft32.com/free-download?gclid=CLKvtvers7ECFbMJtAodlhgALg
We are only able to offer support for genuine Audacity.
Audacity 2.0.1 for Windows is available from the Audacity web site: http://audacityteam.org/download/windows

Re: I cannot get sound from ny guitar into Audacity Help ple
That's correct. There is no direct signal route between Guitar Rig 4 and Audacity.bluezshark wrote:seems to me Audacity is not recognising Guitar rig 4
It may be possible to record the output from Guitar Rig 4 if your computer supports recording from "Stereo Mix".
There's some information about recording stereo mix here: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Mixer ... _Issues#cp
The way that Guitar Rig is intended to be used is as a real time "insert" effect, but Audacity does not support real time effects. For that you would need to use a real time DAW program such as Cubase, Sonar or Reaper.
