when i export a file to mp3
and then go to the file exported,
it shows a small lock on it- so i cannot open it.
also, when i record or play back a file coppied from a cassette, it sounds like a growing noise
please help...
my windows is windows7 and the installation cd says: Ver 47.0A

Will it let you right-click the file > Properties?
Distortion that slowly changes over time could be Windows Enhanced Services, their conferencing suite. You can turn that off.

How do you have the cassette machine connected to the computer? Most people get this wrong because the computer suggests strongly that you just run a wire between the tape player and the computer. It's usually not so simple.
