Need help

I've downloaded the new version; and this has been a problem since the beta. I transferred a cassette, using my stereo, (I can copy to USB stick). I have the CD of the cassette, so I checked the wavelength of the song, and want the cassette to match. The song starts at 0.50, with the song on the 0, on the CD version. Now I have tape transferred, and want the song to start at the 0, when I try to drag, it highlights a portion, and not like the old audacity, when you drag, and you can delete the parts you want to delete.
