I've done that hundreds of times, but this time it worked! Many thanks to you.

I spoke too soon. It stopped working again. It failed right after I loaded in FFMPEG. I thought that file might have caused my problems, so I deleted it. Audacity still wouldn't work. So, I erased Lame again, thinking I would start from scratch. It still is failing, so I am trying it over, and over, until it works again. No matter what I try though, I can't recreate the problem consistently, to determine the root cause. Any ideas?

After it failed the last time, I was able to go to Event Viewer, and got these details:

audacity.exe
2.0.1.0
4fe8e10a
lame_enc.dll
3.99.2.3
4ef7eb29
c0000005
0001af09
1500
01cd5dd53f908f13
C:Program FilesAudacityaudacity.exe
C:Program FilesLame For Audacitylame_enc.dll
9b7285aa-c9c8-11e1-97dc-0019d103685d

I still haven'y figured it out yet, but maybe this will help...

Do your "recordings" include any Imported files, or are they only recordings?
Are you adding any Metadata?

They're all recordings of vinyl LPs, with no edit to the metadata.

Try resetting the Audacity preferences file, just in case something has become corrupted in there.

I reset the preferences, but the Export process died after 12 seconds.

How much free disk space is there on your C: drive?
How big is the file that you are trying to export?
What is the exact location that you are exporting to, and how much free space there?
What is the exact file name that you are using for the exported file?
Are there any error messages?
Any other details that may help to give a clear picture of what is happening?

How much free disk space is there on your C: drive? Tons of free space. I have about 2TB free
How big is the file that you are trying to export? It's a .wav file of one album side.
What is the exact location that you are exporting to, and how much free space there? Lots of free space. I checked to be sure.
What is the exact file name that you are using for the exported file? Tears For Fears - Side 1
Are there any error messages? Just the same as I already posted. It's always an 0XC0000005.
Any other details that may help to give a clear picture of what is happening? I wish had more info to give you.

I don't think that you did post that before.
I presume that you mean the Windows system message "ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005)" or something similar?
Could you give the full message and/or a screen shot of the error message?
