quick question

Help for Audacity on Windows.

quick question

I am using 1.2.6 audacity and just got win 7 I installed audacity but it does not record. The mixer tool, where it should say what u hear or micorphone is grayed out. On my devices it shows micorsoft sound mapper for both input and output. What am i doing wrong? I could not see what i needed on the manual

Audacity 1.2.6 is obsolete and no longer supported. It was written back in the days of Windows XP and was never intended for Windows 7.
Download Audacity 2.0 from here: http://audacityteam.org/download/
