One of the features of open-source software is the ability for anyone to improve it and sell it. If, for example, this person is offering paid support and telephone hot-line, then they're good to go. We offer neither of those services.
For another example, RedHat is a paid distribution -- buy it in a store -- of a free software product, the linux operating system.
