I’m on a PC…Microsoft vista home. I tried the full download (2.0) and the “light” version and it appears to download fine and then when I go to open it it says that files are corrupted and to download again. I have tried multiple times and continually get the same notification.
Is there a standard fix for this?

There is no "light" version of Audacity.
For Windows Vista you want "Audacity 2.0 installer (.exe file, 19.8 MB, including help files)" from here: http://audacityteam.org/download/windows
