Is it possible to separate audio from a video clip made on a camcorder in order to edit the audio in Audacity? If so how do you do it?

If the video clip is a format that is supported by FFMpeg then you will be able to import the audio component of the video file with "File menu > Import > Audio".
You will need to have FFMpeg installed: http://manual.audacityteam.org/manual/h ... tml#ffdown

If the file type is not supported by FFMpeg then you will need to export the audio track from your video editing program in a format that is supported by Audacity (for example WAV format).
