lost recording

Post by kklein » Fri Jun 08, 2012 12:19 am

i was recording a speaker. ended recording and hit the wrong button. was asked if i wanted to save changes.
i clicked no (which i usually do when modifying other recordings - it's kinda automatic).
All my recording data disappeared. Can it be recovered?

Did you save the recording in any way at any point?

It's probably too late now, but if Audacity has not been closed since deleting the track it is usually possible to use "Edit > Undo". However, I don't know what you pressed that lead up to the "Save Changes" prompt. If Audacity has been closed then the recording is gone and lost forever.
