time synced new tracks

Track number 1 is the mother track.
Track numer 2 is recorded (dubbed) with a micrphone from track nr 1.
Then track number 3 is recorded from track nr 1.
And also track nr 4 from track nr 1.
I expected to have track nr 2, 3 and 4 to begin at exactly the same time, because they are a copy of track nr 1, but there is a time difference.

I have tried this in other multitrack systems , but the same problem.
For my project I need track 2, 3 and 4 beginning at the same time without any editing of the tracks watsoever.
Is that possible in Audacity ?
Who can help,

The discrepancy is due to inaccuracies in the sound card.
A reasonable quality sound card should be able to consistently achieve accuracy of 1 or 2 milliseconds, but I see that you’re seeing inaccuracies of 10 to 20 milliseconds.
You could try changing the host setting (just below the Pause button) from MME to Direct Sound and see if that is any better, or changing the project sample rate from 96000 to 48000 or 44100.

If none of those work then you need a better sound card.

If you are able to achieve consistent delay (latency), then see here for how to get Audacity to automatically correct the delay.
This will only work if the delay is consistently the same.
