Help: convert 2 stereo 48KHZ to 1mono 8KHZ

I need to convert a 2304Kbps/24bit/2 stereo/48KHz/PCM file to a 128Kbps/16bit/1 mono/8KHZ/PCM file.
Help please.

  • Import the file into Audacity.
  • Tracks menu > Stereo track to mono
  • Change the “Project Rate” (bottom left corner of the main Audacity window) to 8000
  • File menu > Export and select “WAV (Microsoft) 16 bit PCM” as the file type.
