I had to do everything remotely so I couldn't open and listen to check but here are the last three steps. I can explain anything you may not understand but it's all here.

Step 3

Step 4

Just wondering if there's any...umm... consensus. I'm wondering if I should remove the config, start over again, anything?

You may be starting to run up against this bug: http://bugzilla.audacityteam.org/show_bug.cgi?id=416

1 hour 4 minutes stereo at 96 kHz is about 750 million samples
If you process that file, for example if you normalize it, the number of samples in the project will double as Audacity copies the data so that you can undo the process. That will take you up to 1.5 billion samples. 2^31 is about 2 billion.

If you really need to use 96 kHz, try splitting the project in half before you start editing and see if that makes a difference.

Hmm, while similar, White Christmas wasn't a double album (~30-45m) and my projects aren't coming up blank...

But I'm not trying to argue your reply I will keep everything I record under and hour and keep you posted.

When I tried to open the first of your links, it came up half blank and reported thousands of missing block files.
I'm not certain that the problem is related to the "2^31 sample" issue, but it looks plausible.

The second link has just finished downloading so I'll take a look at that now.

Huh? It shouldn't be blank. The first 2 didn't have any issues.

It did here.
The first 30% was fine. The next 20% was noticeably corrupted and the last 50% was silent.
I can't rule out data corruption in the download, though the RAR file extracted OK so it appeared to be OK.

Oh my goodness. I never played that far! Let me try the first one, the one I didn't upload.

EDIT: Ok I definitely hadn't noticed that... All of them are corrupted. Even from the first save.

The second one does not report missing data.
It plays correctly up to 10:5.940 and from there on the sound is badly corrupted. The sound of the corrupted audio is much the same as I heard in the first project.

So there are a few takeaways from this. Definitely check the entire record before commenting. Also to make sure it's under an hour for now (any ideas how/when that might get fixed?)

If you don't mind, I'm going to remove the files from my Dropbox. Unless you really need them for reference.
