Mic isnt detected or recording

Recently purchased an at2020 microphone and ART Tube pre-amp for my windows xp pc. All set up correctly but audacity isnt recording anything or detecting sound on the monitors. However when i press record the left and right playback stereo's have a little bit of green meter in, and the left recording stereo monitor has a bit of red in. I dont know what to do, i have tried choosing different preferences and microphone options but still nothing. Please Help! Cheers...
