Hi,
I'm running on Vista and have looked on FAQs etc for some simple info. but can't find! Do I need a mic to plug into my pc to record voice? It kinda suggests I should have an inbuilt one but I can't find or activate it. Someone please help me out because all i want to do is make a vocal/audio podcast! Thanks folks x

Re: Just got Audacity - Basic questions!
Laptops tend to have built-in microphones, deskside machines tend not to.
You can open Audacity and mess with the Device Toolbar. If it doesn't say "Built-In Microphone." then you probably need to buy something.
