Hi All,
I am new to Audacity so I followed the getting started tips when setting up. I'm not trying to do anything fancy... just record a podcast for some students. I cannot seem to get the microphone to be recognized by my machine. Are there specific types of microphones required by audacity? What tips can you offer if the microphone is unrecognized?

We don't recognize it either because you didn't tell us what it was. What is it?

Are you asking about the type of microphone? What do you mean when you say "what is it?"
The microphone is a Logitech standard plug in microphone.

Re: No device found?
Almost. I have two standard Logitech microphones. One USB and one analog. Is the plug flat or round?

It's not USB... it's round. Thanks!

Windows 7?
Right-click over the speaker icon in the System Tray > Recording Devices.
You should see the recording devices control panel:

Is the microphone enabled?
If it is, set Audacity to use it: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Tuto ... Your_Input
