Audacity crashes with problem report opening or importing a file

Hello,
I had this problem 2 and a half years ago and posted it here https://forum.audacityteam.org/t/audacity-ends-if-i-try-to-open-or-import-a-file-solved/56509/1 There I found a solution that helped temporarily but the problem was not solved finally and came back again. Also the link I mentioned in the solution description actually is broken, so I start a new trial to solve this problem:

I’ve been working with Audacity since a long time under Windows 7.
Now, after Change to Win 10, I can install Audacity and start it, but as far I try to open or import a file, Audacity ends and vanishes from my screen and brings a problem report similary to this:

I have this behavior with my computer with amd Ryzen 7 cpu as well as with a NUC with Intel i3 cpu.
A trial with an oder laptop with i5 and running under Windows 7 the first time I started vers. 3.2.1 also crashed this way but the system told me that it made something with the compatibility mode and after this here audacity starts an could import a wave file without problems. On a 4th computer (Dell Laptop) audacity ver. 3.2.1 (64bit) works.
I have this problem since I tried version 2.3.2. With the legacy 2.0.6 portable version I do not have any problem. I also read the machine requirements section and I think that both of my concerned Win 10 computers comply with the requirements.

Is anybody there who can help me with this problem…?

Possibly not.

Since your original link was broken, we are not sure exactly what the fix was the first time around. I might start with an internet search on “how to fix windows 10 file explorer keeps crashing”.

Is the file system in question located on an internet or cloud drive ?

Does this help? https://web.archive.org/web/20201112010932/https://www.easeus.com/resource/how-to-fix-windows-10-file-explorer-keeps-crashing.html#1

@ steve: you had the same idea like me meanwhile, your link ist the saved copy of my broken link in the older thread at archive.org.
I tried all these steps actually again but they do not help.
And actually also on my Dell Laptop where it worked (once) at first I have now the same problem.
Because I have this problem on severl computers I ask myself, why does nobody else has this problem.

@jademan: see above, and the files are locally on my devices.

The problem vanishes if I start Audacity (actually ver. 3.2.2) as Admin
