Where Is Silence Finder in Audacity 3.1.2

Greetings to all,
I have installed the 64bit version of Audacity 3.1.2 in Windows 11 Version 21H2.

Silence Finder has disappeared from the Analyze tab, The Nyquist checkbox is enabled in preferences.

Can anyone please advise how to restore silence Finder?

Many thanks

Scott

The old “Silence Finder” and “Sound Finder” tools have been replaced by a more accurate, and more versatile “Label Sounds” tool.

Unfortunately the new tool is also more complicated. I had hoped that the old Silence Finder would have been retained for its simplicity, but it wasn’t.

Documentation for the new “Label Sounds” tool is here: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/label_sounds.html

The old Silence Finder is still available as an optional “Nyquist plug-in”. You can get it here: https://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Nyquist_Analyze_Plug-ins#Silence_Finder
Instructions for installing and enabling Nyquist plug-ins are here: https://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Download_Nyquist_Plug-ins#Installing_plug-ins
