Files longer than 3 hours are getting truncated, why?

I tried to export a 10 hour long audio project to WAV format, but the end result was only 3 hours and 20 minutes long. How to fix this problem?

WAV is limited to 4GB. There is a 32-bit “data size” field in the WAV header and if you go over it rolls-over or otherwise gets corrupted.

You’ll need to choose another format or break it into smaller parts. I believe WAV is the only format with an “artificial” size limit.

It’s old. The original size limit was 2GB and in some conditions it still is.

“Are you crazy? Nobody will ever need to go over 2GB for sound files.”

10 hour long audio project

What’s the project or show? I only ask that because my bottom gets tired when listening to podcasts longer than about an hour and Audacity is not a good program for Surveillance, Law Enforcement, and Conflict Resolution.
