Deleting half sound wave?

How do I delete half of the sound waves in an audio track?

Sorry, what?

The 1st half? The 2nd half? The top-half? The bottom half?

Cosmetically can display only half the waveform …

This does not change how it sounds.

Can actually remove half, aka rectification … https://forum.audacityteam.org/t/rectivert-rectification-and-inversion/23759/3 , (sounds harsh).

The cosmetic doesn’t work for me I want to play one half of the sound waves on my left speaker and the other half of the sound waves on my right speaker the pencil tool can erase some of the sound wave but I think the pencil tool can’t work effectively

Which “half”?

Perhaps you can do enough with the pencil tool to show us what you mean.

See here for how to create a screenshot: Screenshot - Audacity Manual
(or use the Windows screenshot tool)

I want to play one half of the sound waves on my left speaker and the other half of the sound waves on my right speaker

If you want to edit the left & right separately there is a little drop-down arrow to the left of the waveform where you can select Split Stereo Track or Split Stereo to Mono.

Then for example - You could select just the whole left (top) track and apply the Fade Out effect, and select the whole bottom track and apply the Fade In effect. Now the song (if it’s a song) will slowly move from fully-left in the beginning to fully-right at the end.

That is similar to what I want to do but I want the right speaker to only have sound wave going upward like the left channel I guessing my speakers can make an original sound that way

Hi Seinbeans

Could you expand on your original post with a little more detail.

Apply the “Distortion” effect (See here: Distortion - Audacity Manual)
with these settings:
