I could use some help. I have cassette tapes that I want to convert to digital format (mp3?) I’m using a Denon tape deck and a PC. I have cable going into the blue line port for the PC out to the headphones jack on the tape deck.

That’s correct, except the blue connection is a line-input. The headphone output from the tape deck is OK but if this is a regular “component” type tape deck the RCA line-outputs should also work (with the appropriate connectors). The headphone-output probably has a volume control and that can sometimes be useful.
