Help for Audacity on Windows.

Please state which version of Windows you are using,
and the exact three-section version number of Audacity from "Help menu > About Audacity".

Audacity 1.2.x and 1.3.x are obsolete and no longer supported. If you still have those versions, please upgrade at https://www.audacityteam.org/download/.
The old forums for those versions are now closed, but you can still read the archives of the 1.2.x and 1.3.x forums.

The new version will probably not fix this problem with FAT format drives, but it does fix some other important issues. Hopefully the 'FAT' format problem will be fixed in the Audacity version after that.
FWIW, I noticed that earlier this morning, the developers forwarded a fix for this issue to testing. It is not yet patched in the current 3.0.3 alpha, but it is likely to be.
I QA tested the fix for this bug this norning and it works fine on Windows - I will make a Mac test in a week or so when I get back to my Macbook.
