(Windows 10) 3.0.2 Program stops replying after something on my keyboard is pressed

I've suffered from the program not replying four times the first thirty minutes since I downloaded Audacity. Meanwhile everything else on my laptop works except for it (actually I'm typing this with the unconscious program there right now).

Each time I restarted my laptop and reopen Audacity and could use it normally again, all the way until I tried to key something. First I thought it was a specific problem about the "ctrl" key, but I figured it happens with any key after it got stuck again when I attempted to rename the new file.

I don't know whether this is a problem of this very laptop of mine, or some wrong steps that I took, or a bug of Audacity, but I really do hope this problem to be solved asap because it's not easy either reminding myself not to use ctrl + z and all the other keys with any reason, or working fast on my current project having to restart the laptop once in a while. I'd also like to know if there's a better solution than restarting the laptop when this occurs again (due to another accidental key).

ps. I wonder if a problem like this can be called a program crash. According to Wikipedia, the program exits in a crash. Audacity did not exit in my case. I couldn't even shut it down since it didn't even reply to that. So I'm asking btw if this can be referred to as a crash. Just curious.

I seem to be having a similar issue.

Fresh install of Audacity 3.0.2, load it up without issue. I can open files, etc...
As soon as I touch my keyboard with the Audacity window active, the interface locks up and doesn't accept any input or update to any events (mouseovers on buttons, etc).

It seems that if I'm in the audacity menus, I can use the keyboard without freezing, but once I've selected something (open the preferences window, etc ) then with the next keyboard input the interface locks it up.

Following steve's question above about the OP's keyboard, I'm using a Japanese keyboard, but an English OS.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

There's a known issue relating to "IME messages", caused by a Windows update.

Microsoft claim that the issues are fixed in the latest Windows updates, so I'd recommend ensuring that Windows is fully updated.
If Windows has not updated recently, you may need to run Windows Update multiple times to fully update (which can be very time consuming).
