Hi,
I'm trying to find out if there's a version of Audacity which has lame encoder built in, but is also prior to the changes made to the way audio is selected.
To be clearer, if i wanted to select the whole track to change pitch for example, on older versions all I had to do was select "change pitch" and the whole track was selected automatically. On newer versions if i do the same I get the message "Select the audio for change pitch to use, then try again", and I have to manually select the whole track. This change has made the more recent versions unusable for me so I use an older version, but I'd like to know if there's a version which uses the old selection system but has lame built in also. I'm using Windows 7.
If anyone can help I'd be grateful.
Thanks.

Re: LAME question
You don't need to roll back, you can use the latest version of Audacity.
All you need to do is go to Tracks Behaviors preference and check "on" the top item "Select all audio, if selection required".
See: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/tra ... ences.html

Re: LAME question
Damn I had no idea that was an option, I presumed the change was hard coded into the new versions.
That'll teach me to check through all the options in future
Thanks for putting me straight.
