Hi,
I just downloaded the software and plugged my Mackie board into my laptop. I must be doing something wrong because I am getting no reading on my bass as I try to record. Have I missed a step in the beginning

and the exact three-section version number of Audacity from "Help menu > About Audacity".

You should connect all of the equipment before launching Audacity.
Then select the appropriate recording input in the Device Toolbar.
