I post to another thread which content non-english file/path name.
The problems with non-English characters is being investigated by the Audacity developers. At least part of the problem is due to a bug in a recent Windows update. There may be other issues relating to this.
FYI,my windows is
Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.19042.868]
FYI, you may reference for the windows build name with version number.

I am receiving the same error. I save the project and then export mp3 files. When I close the Audacity window I get the error message.

Does this happen every time, 100%? I just tried your steps a few times and I get no error.

I had this issue frequently with 3.0.
I did:
1) Tools>Reset Configuration
2) quit
3) delete Autosave folder (in AppData\Roaming\audacity\)
4) launch
seems to have fixed

Issue seems to be related to closing a project without saving it.

Yes I agree with that - but sadly I can't use that to get reliably reproducible steps.
The soon to be upcoming 3.0.1 release will have a modified error message for this with an optional log-file capture so we hope with this to get more detailed information for the developers to analyze this issue.
Peter.

Apologies for dropping off this thread after my initial replies. A rather hectic few weeks due to one thing or another...
This is still happening for me with 3.0.0 and has become a real annoyance so I've had no choice but to downgrade back to 2.4.2.
Before downgrading I spent some time trying the various "Tools > Reset Config + Roaming folder/CFG files deletion" steps suggested by other contributors but as soon as I re-launch 3.0.0 the "Automatic Crash Recovery" window is back with a vengeance. It is then a lottery whether Audacity will work correctly after that regardless of what I choose. It's not re-creatable in a pure sense, the only constant is you will get the "Automatic Crash Recovery" 9 times out of 10. It never goes away.
When I close 3.0.0 on the rare occasions I've managed to use it correctly and choose "No, don't save the project" this just prompts more "Automatic Crash Recovery" alerts upon next launch.
If I choose "Yes, save the project" and create a dummy project file on say, my Desktop the Automatic Crash Recovery goes away for perhaps one further launch, but then is quickly back after that.
Happy to continue helping with the troubleshooting but it's just baffling as I haven't had this issue with any previous Audacity versions. I'm working in 2.4.2 now and it's just like night and day when compared to 3.0.0

We have been working hard to fix this - dadly it was not caught in the extensive QA testing (on alpha builds and Release Candidates) we did for 3.0.0 prior to release.
We think we have now found the underlying cause and it should be fixed for the upcoming 3.0.2 release.
Peter.

If you would like you may test the new 3.0.2 (3.0.1 was skipped) Release Candidate
here.
Please do not do production work on any release candidate.

Thanks for the heads up.
I upgraded to 3.0.2 RC from 2.4.2 and upon first launch got the dreaded "Automatic Crash Recovery" straight away. Heart sank a little bit.
However I dismissed the warning (discarded the Project) and Crash Recovery not reappeared since. Audacity 3.0.2 RC appears to be behaving normally. Wow. I have closed/reopened the app numerous times. Opened FLACs, MP3s, WAVs etc. and it's looking good. Saved down a project, updated one etc. No error (yet).
Seems like you guys are on the right track for a permanent fix so that's great

nice work.
Noted, I will not use the RC for anything super-important but will definitely keep it installed for the moment and let you know if any other errors or unusual behaviour occurs.
