Distorted Noise from Single Microphone Audio

We were doing an office testimonial and sadly one of the microphones spit out audio with this weird distortion. It only came from the one microphone, however the other sounded rather normal. I have a feeling the microphone may be bad, however I don't want to ask the person to re-do the testimonial because other than the audio, it turned out amazing.
I've tried noise reduction as well as a few other fixes found here:

Is this audio ruined due to a bad mic or is there a way I can clean it up and remove these distortions?
Thanks yall

I took at look at this recording and applied the following effects in this order:
1) High pass Filter: 100Hzm 24dB per Octave
2) Select audio from about .2 to .8; Noise Reducion: Get Noise Profile
3) Select all; Noise Reducion: OK
4) Select audio from about 2.4 to 3.0; Get Noise Profile
5) Keeping same audio selected; Noise Reducion: OK
6) Select all; Amplify
I hope this helps.

IMMENSELY. I didn't even think about zooming into those .5 second areas. That definitely cleaned up the entire clip. The other speaker is a lot louder now, so I'll keep working at it.
Thank you so much
