Audacity Version - 2.4.2
Operating System - Windows 10

I use USB mike to record on Audacity. Since yesterday while recording Audacity is picking a shrill sound on its own and recording it.

This is happening even when the mic is not connected to the system. When the mic is connected it is not picking feed from mic now.

Re-installed it still, the problem continues. PLEASE HELP.

Make sure to select the USB mic as your Recording Device. ...You might have selected an option that includes other sounds and/or you may have created an internal feedback loop.

In your microphone properties, make sure you have Listen To This Device turned off:

Right -click on speaker icon in lower right-hand corner. Sounds > Recording > [your USB mic] > Properties > Listen > uncheck Listen to this device.

I hope this helps. :D

Audacity - 2.4.2
Operating Software - Windows 10

Thank you Jademan. The problem is resolved.
This has left me with another query. I am not able to listen to the audio on the headphone while recording.
I have a bass boosted headphone with 2 grooves.

please suggest in terms of setting in Audacity and the quality of the headphone.

You are welcome. :D

koz and others are more knowledgeable about this second issue. Do you have Software playthrough of input selected?

Audacity > Edit > Preferences > Recording > Software playthrough of input.

I hope this helps. :D
