Is it normal to have a noise when I set the microphone volume to 0 and amplify the audio at 50DB?

I'm a beginner in this world of audio, I looked elsewhere and found no answer.

Analog recordings always have some amount of background noise. When you amplify by 50 dB, it is to be expected that the recorded noise will get much louder.

It's good to avoid extremes of volume correction.

What's the microphone and how is it connected?

Thanks for the answer.
Answering the question, it is connected to the 3.5mm input of a sound card, the strix soar.
