HP 17-g121wm /audacity 2.4

Hello, my computer worked with Audacity, can’t remember what I had to do to make it work. My problem is, I just got 2.4 version and had to reset/wipe computer. Now the computer loads audacity but nothing is coming in on computer except distortion. I have a USB line in that is playing my music? What can I do to use Audacity again and record?

Is that 2.4.0, 2.4.1, or 2.4.2?
(look in "Help menu > About Audacity".)

Do you mean that you did a fresh reinstalled Windows 10?
If so, have you completed all Windows updates?
Did you reinstall the drivers from

So check in your device toolbar that the device you are recording from is in fact your USB line rather than your computer microphone.
